James M. Bardwell, 76, of Ft. Worth, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Harris Methodist Hospital in Ft. Worth. He was born July 2, 1933 in Waco, TX, the son of Geter Martin Bardwell and Effie Walter Bardwell. James M.

Bardwell and Yvonne Hellums were married on July 7, 2004 in Ft.Worth. He worked as a painter and attended the Baptist Church. James served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and he was a member of AMVETS.

James is survived by his wife, Yvonne Bardwell of Ft. Worth; his sons, Geter Martin Bardwell of Ft. Worth; James Douglas Bardwell and his wife, Gloria of Ft. Worth; Clinton Cecil Bardwell and his wife, Leslie of Ft. Worth; his step-sons, Tommy Daryl Headrick and his wife, Karin of Round Rock; Perry Leroy Headrick of California; his stepdaughters, Kathleen Ray Jackson and her husband, Brackston of Ace; Melissa Marie Brown of San Angelo; Darlene Fay Epperson; his grandchildren, Natasha Jo Bardwell, Clinton Chad Bardwell, Stephanie Nicole Bardwell and her husband, Ryan; Jason Michael Bardwell, Jamie Martin Bardwell, Dominick Tyler, Dorian Tyler, Kobe Williams, Crystal Williams, Courtney Williams and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

James is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, and three brothers.

Funeral services were held Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George McHorse officiating.

Interment followed at Wallace Creek Cemetery.

 

 

Bearss, Mildred

Mildred Harkey Bearss, 77, of Austin, Texas, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2010, at North Austin Medical Center, Austin, Texas. She was born June 7, 1932, in San Saba, Texas, the daughter of R. T. Harkey and Goldia Cook Harkey.

She is survived by her husband, Leslie Bearss of Austin; three sons, Bud Bearss and his wife Christy of Georgetown; Rick Bearss and Chris Bearss of Austin; a daughter, Terri Bearss of Austin; grandchildren, David Bearss and his wife Kelly; Melissa Fowler and her husband Justin; Phillip Bearss, Misty Shugart, Jennifer Shuggart, Joshua Bearss, and Joseph Bearss; great-grandchildren, Haylee Fowler, Scott Fowler, Omeira Shea Bearss, and Gage Bearss.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Luther Harkey.

Services were held Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. at the China Creek Cemetery, in San Saba County, Texas. Interment followed at China Creek Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.

Beasley, Marie

Marie Beasley, 69, of San Saba, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Brownwood Regional Hospital in Brownwood, Texas. She was born August 12,

1940 in Eden, Texas, the daughter of Marion E. Crawford and Una V. Lee Crawford. Marie Beasley and Charles Edward Beasley were married in Brady on November 6, 1958. She worked at Eventide Nursing Home as a Dietician. She attended Holt Baptist Church.

 

Marie is survived by her son, Michael Beasley and his wife, Shelly of Burnet; her daughter, Susan Sewell and her husband, W. T. of Richland Springs; her grandchildren, Krystal Beasley, Jessika Sewell, Josh Beasley, LaTrisha Sewell, Cheyene Beasley and Kody Sewell; her great-grandchildren, Joshua Beasley and Blaine Beasley; her brothers, Wayne Crawford and his wife, Alma of Conway, Arkansas; Dale Crawford of Weatherford and Ray Crawford of Brooksmith and several nieces and nephews.

 

Marie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Clifford Crawford and Johnny Crawford, and one sister, Iva Dell Crawford.

Services were held Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Holt Baptist Church with Rev. Welton Watson officiating. Interment followed at Holt cemetery.

 

Botello, Frances

Frances Botello, 86, of San Saba, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Brownwood Regional Hospital in Brownwood TX. She was born November 22, 1922 in Big Valley Texas, the daughter of Ygnacio Campos and Porferia Perez Campos.

Frances Campos and T.D. Botello were married in San Saba on June 19, 1949. She attended St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Frances is survived by her husband, T.D. Botello of San Saba; her son, Martin Ray Botello and his wife, Teresa of Early; her daughters, Gloria Botello Carroll and her husband, Bob of Austin; Martha Botello Saucedo and her husband, Ray of Austin; her grandchildren, Chris Carroll and his wife, Michelle; Michael Carroll, Michelle Tobias and her husband, Nels; Jason Garcia, Brian Botello, Garrett Saucedo and Kirby Saucedo; her great-grandchildren, Jonathan Carroll, Amanda Carroll, Gareth Tobias, Mia Tobias and Brayden Garcia; her sisters, Rachel Bernal and her husband, Lupe of Killeen; Mary Mireles and her husband, Richard of Brady; and Rosie Vasquez of Austin and several nieces and nephews.

Frances is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Leroy Campos and Joe Campos and one sister, Lupe Menchaca.

Service will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. St. Mary's Catholic Church with Deacon Richard Menchaca officiating.

Brown, Annabel

Annabel Brown, 93, of Rough Creek Community in San Saba County, passed away, Sunday, September 7, 2008 in Temple, Texas.

 

She was born August 11, 1915 at the Rough Creek Community, the daughter of George W. Long and Willie Josephine Beauchamp. Annabel was a past president of the Garden Club, and a member of the Eastern Star. On January 10, 1948, Annabel Long and Ted Brown Jr. were married at the Methodist parsonage in San Saba, Texas. She attended the Presbyterian church.

 

She is survived by her husband, Ted Brown Jr., of Rough Creek Community in San Saba County; one son, Alan Dale Brown, and his wife, Mitzie, of Rough Creek Community; one daughter, Barbara Hardy. and her husband, Les, of Red Bluff Community in Lampasas County; grandchildren: Jenna Lee Bronstad and her husband, Troy, of Jourdanton, TX; Christopher Michael Brown and his wife, Jennifer, of Little Elm, TX; Joshua Alan Brown of Sonora; Russell Lee Hardy of Denver City, TX; Michael Aaron Hardy of Montclair, NJ; and Eryn Michelle Wilcoxen and her husband, Jay, of Brownwood; great-grandchildren:

Sterling Gene Bronstad, Savannah Lee Bronstad, Caleb Christopher Brown, James Russell Hardy, Alexandra Jade Wilcoxen, and Peyton Rae Wilcoxen; one sister, Bernice McWilliams, of Anchorage, Alaska; and several nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gene Long and Clifford Long; and one sister, Mary Lee Roberts.

 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home in San Saba, with Rev. Tom Brand officiating.

Interment will follow at the Chappel Cemetery in San Saba County.

 

The family will receive friends, Wednesday, September 10, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home in San Saba.

 

Family requests that memorials be made to the San Saba County EMS.

Bryant, Emily

Emily Sloan Bryant, 91, of San Saba passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2009 in San Saba, Texas. She was born on November 16th, 1917 in Richland Springs, Texas, the daughter of Joshua Walter Munselle and Heba Hortenese Ransom Munselle. Emily was a florist. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and also was a member of the Women's Relief Society.

Emily is preceded in death by her parents, Joshua W. and Heba Munselle; sisters, Mary Munselle Lewis; Joan Munselle Collins; Bentley Munselle Stevens; Ophelia Munselle Nagel; brothers, Ransom Munselle; Charles Munselle; and a grandaughter Emily Ann Bryant.

 

The family received friends on Friday, March 6th, 2009, at the Church of Christ Fellowship Hall in San Saba. Services were at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2009, at the Richland Springs Cemetery Pavilion with Bishop Matthew Doyle and Byron Theodosis officiating. Interment followed at the Richland Springs Cemetery, Richland Springs, Tx.

 

Services were under the direction of Sheppard Funeral Home of Copperas Cove, TX.

 

Bush, John

John (Sputnik) Bush, 51, of Richland Springs, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2009 in Brownwood Regional Medical Center. He was born Jaunary 3, 1958 in Hollandale, MS., the son of John Lee Bush and Connie Thomas Bush. On August 14, 1993 John Calvin Bush and Selena Strutton were married in Port Lavaca, TX. He was in the United States Marine Corp., in the Pacific Area.

 

John (Sputnik) is survived by his wife, Selena Bush of Richland Springs; his mother, Connie Bush of Tow; his son, Chance Bush of Richland Springs; his daughter, Brittany Lee Bush of Richland Springs; his brothers, Ricky Bush of Tow and Billy Bush of Tow; and several nieces and nephews.

 

John (Sputnik) is preceded in death by his father.

 

Services were held Monday, June 22, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Richland Springs. Rev. Barry Fikes officiated and Charlie Fowler assisted. Interment followed at Richland Springs Cemetery.

 

The family requests that memorials be made to the Richland Springs Rodeo Association.
